Working safely near our infrastructure

No work should commence in the vicinity of our infrastructure unless you are suitably competent to implement the guidance outlined in this section.

It is important when carrying out work near our network that you are aware of the risks and apply good practice safety standards. This means that after we have provided you with information about our infrastructure it is your responsibility to assess the risks arising from your work impacting on our infrastructure by carrying out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment. When carrying out your risk assessment you must consider how you will control the risks to ensure that you do not hit our overhead or underground cables or strike any of our equipment. There is free guidance available to help you work safely:
