Referral partners
At National Grid, we partner with local organisations to raise awareness about our Priority Services Register among vulnerable members of our community who may benefit from additional assistance during power cuts. If your organisation supports elderly, disabled or otherwise vulnerable individuals, you could be a valuable referral partner.
What is a referral partner?
Referral partners are local organisations, such as charities and councils, who help distribution network operators, such as National Grid, to identify vulnerable people who may require extra support in the event of a power cut. By signing our referral partner agreement, these organisations commit to promoting our Priority Services Register to eligible individuals, directing them to our online registration form or supplying them with freepost leaflets to complete by hand.
In turn, National Grid will provide training to its referral partners on what to do during a power cut and distribute ‘crisis packs’ containing essential items such as torches, hard hats and gloves to be shared with their beneficiaries.
For more information about what our Priority Services Register is and how you can become a referral partner, please refer to our guide on helping us to support customers during a power cut.
